                How can computers be exciting to the average person? Well, if you use a cell phone, T.V, or anything that has any sort of technology, you are using computers. They are a good source of information. Other times they are a pain in the butt. The computer science degree can help the average “Joe” and mold him into a person who can conjure up a program with their eyes closed or, better yet, a person who can rid the world of all the computer viruses. Neumont University is currently helping several students, including me, to achieve their computer oriented goal.

Computer science or computing science (abbreviated CS) is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation. It also includes practical techniques for their implementation and application in computer systems. Computers are very important these days because most of our equipment is programmed by a computer.  My expertise in software is very limited but when it comes to hardware, I am like a computer genius of some sort.  I can take apart a computer and put it back together in an estimated two or three hours, depending on my attitude and the amount of parts the computer has.

A professional computer scientist must have a firm foundation in the crucial areas of the field and will most likely have an in-depth knowledge in one or more of the other areas of the discipline, depending upon the person's particular area of practice. Thus, a well educated computer scientist should be able to apply the fundamental concepts and techniques of computation, algorithms, and computer design to a specific design problem.

The work includes detailing of specifications, analysis of the problem, and provides a design that functions as desired, has satisfactory performance, is reliable and maintainable, and meets desired cost criteria. Clearly, the computer scientist must not only have sufficient training in the computer science areas to be able to accomplish such tasks, but must also have a firm understanding in areas of mathematics and science, as well as a broad education in liberal studies to provide a basis for understanding the societal implications of the work being performed.

                 Some universities teach computer science as a theoretical study of computation and algorithmic reasoning. These programs often feature the theory of computation, analysis of algorithms, formal methods, concurrency theory, databases, computer graphics, and systems analysis, among others. They typically also teach computer programming, but treat it as a vessel for the support of other fields of computer science rather than a central focus of high-level study.

                The relationship between computer science and software engineering is a contentious issue, which is further muddied by disputes over what the term "software engineering" means, and how computer science is defined. People have claimed that the principal focus of computer science is studying the properties of computation in general, while the principal focus of software engineering is the design of specific computations to achieve practical goals, making the two separate but complementary disciplines.

Neumont University in South Jordan, Utah is a wonderful place to learn computer oriented programs and industry related studies. Neumont has helped many students achieve their goals or their dreams by taking a four year degree and condensing it down to two and a half years of studying. If those students want to take Game Design they will take an extra six months of studying and learning.

                Computer Science is a great area to study and having fun while doing it, sometimes. For example, a number of computer scientists have argued for the distinction of three separate paradigms in computer science. Peter Wegner argued that those paradigms are science, technology, and mathematics. That is no fun at all.

                Technology and CS are bonded like blood brothers; they have been through hell and back to reach a certain level of awesomeness. CS is a blood brother to technology because when technology advances or gets pushed back, so will CS.

                Other colleges and universities, as well as secondary schools and vocational programs that teach computer science, emphasize the practice of advanced programming rather than the theory of algorithms and computation in their computer science curricula. Such programs tend to focus on those skills that are important to workers entering the software industry. The process aspects of computer programming are often referred to as software engineering.

                Most people would dispute the difference between CS and software but I think it is the same thing, except some concepts in CS relate to hardware more than software. “Random thing happen to random people.”

Professional Bio Statement

                When I was growing up, I had an interest in computers. My first computer was a hand me down and it had Windows 95. When I first turned it on tThat is when I knew I loved computers. Because of that interest, I had a sudden urge to take apart the computer to figure out how it worked. At the age of six, my interest in the mechanics of computers increased to the point where I could take it apart with no tools. My first computer was taken apart and put back together at age 6. But when that happened I discovered something more interesting than just taking apart a computer. That discovery was called video games. That is whenen I lost interest in computers.in them for a while.

 After playing about four or five years’ spent playing video games, which I only played on and off for about six straight years, I decided to that I was spending too much time on them and pursue something more productive in my life. I decided when I become of age, I should join the military, but only join up with a branch that you feel comfortable being in. That was when I was around fifteen or sixteen years old. Two or three years later I graduated from Kanab High School with no special medals or rewards.

With high school over with, I decided to join the military but with one condition. I wait for a friend before I sign the dotted line. So the summer passes by with everything going fine, but here comes October and with it death. My father died on October 7, 2009 from a clot which was a byproduct of a surgery he had about a month before that. And so did my dreams of a military career.

Seven months pass by with a few minor problems, then May appears out of the blue and so does my sign up with the USMC, or the United States Marine Corps. My friend and I decided to join up with the Marines under the Buddy Program, which allows you to go to Basic Training with at least two other people. Our departure date to Basic was November 15, 2010, in which the time spent before that date was to get ready for a brutal experience and get ourselves fit for duty.

November 15, 2010 was the day we were to go up the military distribution center to get a physical reexamination and to learn what to do before we go and become soldiers. So we arrived at the military center, got our papers and then we boarded our flights to San Diego. When we got to San Diego, we ended up getting split up because our flights were at different times and we lost sight of each other when we were getting implemented into the Marine lifestyle and getting fitted for our new uniforms.

Stayed in the Marines for a month and a half, and after about a month into basic I got sick. I almost died from Pneumonia and they discharged me after they let me stay for a few more weeks to see if I would get better. Getting to the point, my hobbies consist of military related games and computer based technology.

Some experiences I have had with Computer Science related topics would include taking apart several computers and learning all the aspects of the software before taking them apart. You may ask “Jon, what got you interested in computers in the first place?” I would say “I was interested at birth, so I say that is truth not lies?”  Basically what got me hooked on computers and software was when I first laid eyes on my first computer and started tinkering away at it.

What makes me a good candidate for employment? Well Neumont is an awesome place to learn because of the way subjects and classes are taught; Neumont allows the students to learn at a faster pace than most colleges and universities. The faculty and teachers cram the material so hard and fast in to the students brains that those subjects that were taught stay with the student for many years. Plus as a bonus, the students only have to spend on average up to two or three years learning the needed material and experience for today's’ fast paced workplace.

Why Google Chrome is better than Internet Explorer

                Why is Google Chrome better than Internet Explorer? Many people have asked this question and most have received their answer by downloading Google Chrome. Most of those people who have downloaded Google Chrome and have been using Internet Explorer usually don’t go back because Google Chrome is easier and uses less computer processing to use.

 One reason to choose Google  is that Google runs a great deal smoother than Internet Explorer—Internet Explorer has way too many viruses that pop up every day in emails or random websites. Internet Explorers pop-up blocker and virus blocker has reduntant errors when using them. Google Chromes’ pop-up blocker is at the top of the class when it comes to errors, while the virus blocker has a team of professionals that monitor all the reports and crashes that are discovered while using Chrome.

                Another reason to choose Google Chrome, which we are going to call GC and we are going to call Internet Explorer IE, would be Google Chrome has automatic downloads so you don’t have to get manual updates for it. While IE has to tell you when it has updated and you have to go to Microsofts website in order to find the update file to download.
